Help i dont know what to do its kinda a love triangle?

ok so this guy i like he likes me back but his girlfriend is a friend of mine. hes told me he likes me more and hes as of hours ago broke up with her. i told him not to break up with her for me. also i said that the only way for us to go out is if its ok with her. but of course that will take time. one of his friends said that hes a dumbass and that i need to be carefull but that we would be cool together what is that supost to mean. am i doing the right thing does this make me whore. i just dont know what to do anymore im in highschool the last thing i want is to be in more drama.
