IPod Touch Exits Apps?

This happened to mine a few weeks ago. Firstly have your USB-iPod wire ready, plugged into the computer but NOT into the iPod. Then press and hold the power and home button for thirty seconds. After thirty seconds let go of the home button but keep holding the power button. Then, still holding the power button, plug the ipod into the computer. Hopefully, this should work, it certainly helped my iPod!
