Ingrown toenail... 15?

I'm 15 and have a ingrown toenail I belive is infected but not sure. My mom can't cut it out cause she says she can't see it. So I'm haveing her call tomarrow for a apointment because I have to get reffered there for the stuff. Anyway I hate needles pain and docs and the ingrown tonail is on the left toe left side and I think I have a small one on the same toe on the other side. Do you think they will have to take the whole toenail off? I don't want that it doesint hurt really unless I push on it or bump it and sometimes if I'm not carefull it hurts on the right side when I put my sock on. The flesh is very tender. If my mom touchs the scissors on flesh oj the inside of the toe it hurts sooooo much.. I have pics in my profile please look at them and tell me if you think they need to take the nail all the way off and how Much it will hurt with my flesh being tender and if they will take both sides out and kill the roots.. will they do that the first time I go??
